Medacs Healthcare is currently looking for a Consultant in Nephrology and General Medicine to join a large NHS Trust based in Sussex.

Salary scale: £82,096 to £110,683 per annum depending on experience – 10 PA’s
This is a fixed term post for 12 months.

Duties & responsibilities of the post
The appointee will be expected to provide a clinical and administrative service in Nephrology and General (Internal) Medicine and will be required to undertake emergency on-call work in accordance with the existing on-call rota. He or She may be on-call 1:10 (subject to change) on weekdays and at weekends. The appointee will be responsible for emergency care ward rounds when on call. The division of medicine operate a physician of the day service, with the on-call physician starting the ward round on the following morning.
The appointee will continue current nephrology services including weekly general nephrology clinics. The appointee is expected provide a high standard of care to renal patients and a consultant opinion on any patient referred to nephrology services.
Requirements:
• Entry on the GMC specialist register in Nephrology and General (Internal) Medicine or be eligible for entry (within six months of attaining Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training) at the time of interview
• MRCP or equivalent
• Full GMC registration
• Depth and breadth of experience in acute ward based and out-patient medicine and Nephrology
• Experience in management of acute medical inpatients and medical outpatients
• Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
