The New Foscote Hospital has been successfully established in Banbury for almost 40 years and has provided services and treatments to thousands of people from across the region during this time. We have over 50 consultants, all of whom are leaders in their specialist fields and choose to hold their private practices here, working alongside our friendly, highly qualified and experienced nursing and support teams. We have recently investigated the need for a new position to support the Procurement Manager in the day-to-day ordering and processing of the hospital’s consumables and pharmacy stock.

Role Purpose:

At The New Foscote Hospital the Procurement Officer will provide logistical and administrative support to the Procurement Manager. They will be responsible for the execution of transactions related to purchasing and acquisition of goods, commodities, equipment, contracts, and services as needed or required to sustain and safeguard the Hospital’s resources.

Core Responsibilities:

• To assist the Procurement Manager in sourcing materials for the hospital at the best price, quality and terms
• To maintain stock levels within the hospital
• To ensure consistent supply of goods to provide ongoing efficient and effective running of the hospital
• To guarantee that all departments order goods in line with the hospital policies
• To support the Procurement Manager in the administration and management of the pharmacy stock

Knowledge & Experience
• To be fully conversant with all Microsoft Office software and be PC literate
• Ability to learn and use internal and external IT systems

• Previous experience within a procurement / materials role
• Previous experience within a healthcare setting
• Previous experience within pharmacy procurement / materials role
• Previous advanced experience with Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of medical terminology
