An extremely rare and highly exciting role has become available for a Dispensing Optician to join an independent opticians in an Operational Management role.

You will join a small group of independent practices based near Bromley which are well-established and locally owned with an excellent reputation in the area.

As Operational Manager, you will oversee various aspects of the business to continue its on-going success and bring new idea to the table with regards to improvements and adjustments that can be made to increase performance accordingly.

Alongside this you will dispense were required, ideally holding a Dispensing Optician qualification but not essential as long as you are comfortable dispensing at all levels.

This is a rare and highly rewarding role, with a real opportunity to go and make a significant impact on a stable and well-established opticians.

Key Duties

* Full time position with hours generally 9am-530am (1 hour lunch) with some reduced hours on weekends also potentially required (exact hours worked are flexible to suit needs of the business)
* Role will require a capable individual to effectively manage medium size team of support staff and clinicians in addition to undertaking dispensing/clinical responsibilities as required
* You will use your expert knowledge of the optical industry to provide leadership and strategic direction to ensure the ongoing success of our client's operations
* Role will include, but no limited to, stock control and selection, organising staff, training, assisting in delivery of marketing, liaising closely with accounts team and business owner in regards to business performance, recruitment, DO/Dispenser responsibilities, business planning and presenting these effectively via MS Excel etc

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

* Essential to hold 15 to 20 years + optics experience
* 5 years + minimum management experience in optics overseeing medium sized team (5-10+ persons) of professionals
* Ideally qualified DO or experienced dispenser
* Ideally hold qualification in business/practice management
* Proven experience in stock control and selection, organising staff, training, assisting in delivery of marketing, liaising closely with accounts team and business owner in regards to business performance, recruitment, DO/Dispenser responsibilities, business planning and presenting these effectively via MS Excel etc
* Full time required
* Must have right to work in the UK
