About the role

We are looking for a Clinical Director to join us on a non-executive/ consultant agreement to actively contribute and help us sustain and nurture assured, patient led cost-effective services in line with the requirements of all relevant legislation and stakeholders. This will involve:
• Attending Clinical Governance meetings on a quarterly basis.
• Approving Policies and Procedures.
• Guiding and supporting Centre Manager and Clinical team.
• Providing clinical guidance on new initiatives.
• Contributing on other issues in which the Clinical Director has expertise.

We expect the role can be delivered flexibly taking on average 3-4 days a month.

Skills & qualifications:

• Practicing consultant Radiologist with an active GMC registration.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, Infection Control and Clinical Governance.
• Strong understanding of the CQC regulations.
• Expertise in UK healthcare legislation.
• Strong leadership, communication skills and willingness to participate actively in discussion.
• Commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• To ensure the organisation complies with statutory and regulatory requirements, proactively provide expert advice and guidance of best practice to the Centre Manager and the Imaging Lead.
• To take an active role in the Quarterly Governance Meetings, reviewing audits, incidents, and clinical complaints.
• Working closely with the clinical governance committee, provide sound up-to-date guidance to identify and resolve any potential concerns.
• To help assess and manage risks effectively by reviewing and sharing insight on resolving escalated clinical complaints or concerns.

• To support the clinical governance committee in ensuring that the clinical governance policies and procedures are effective, up to date, and in line with the required guidelines.
• To help safeguard the reputation and values of Oryon.
• To approve the granting of practicing privileges to consultant Radiologists; assist in performance reviews as and when required.
• To provide clinical expertise in future clinical service development plans.
