PIP Disability Analyst Opportunity: for RGNs, RMNs, RNLDs, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Paramedics in Carlisle

As part of the Government's Welfare Reform Agenda, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) have introduced a benefit called the Personal Independence Payment (PIP). Replacing the Disability Living Allowance (DLA), PIP is designed to better reflect today's understanding of disability and is focused on helping with the extra costs disabled people face to lead independent lives.

It is a role suited to Nurses (RMN, RGN, and RNLD) Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Doctors and Paramedics with at least two years' post-registration experience and a clear understanding of how disabilities or impairments impact on daily lives.

The ideal candidates will have experience in a variety of medical/nursing settings and possess excellent communication skills. Typing, grammar and IT skills are essential to fulfil the role.

To become a PIP Health Assessor/Disability Analyst you will undertake a 4 stage training programme that will build on your professional skills and provide you with the new competencies essential for the role:

• E learning (20-30 hours)
• Face to face course = 10 days
• Mentored assessment period
• Reports audited until satisfactory grades achieved.

While the role is autonomous you will have the excellent benefit of working in an established, friendly team of health professionals with a variety of experience in mental health, physical disabilities, cognitive and sensory impairments.

Job Requirements:
• Good communication, organisational and time management skills
• Good IT skills including word processing
• At least 2 years post-HCPC or NMC registration experience

• post-registration: 2 years (Required)

• Secondary education (Required)
