ID Medical is looking for a Cardiologist Consultant for immediate placement in NHS hospital at Newport.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to give clear and concise instructions to more junior doctors are essential for this role.

Required Details:

* To share in the provision of a comprehensive in-patient and out-patient cardiology service including; supervision of in-patients on CCU and stepdown ward, with ward rounds as in Job Plan.
* Contribution to the permanent pacing service, including implantation of new pacemaker systems and loop recorders, elective generator replacements and medical supervision of the technician-led device follow-up clinics.
* Assessment of in-patients referred by other medical and surgical teams, including Medical Admissions Unit, Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department.
* Clinical supervision of cardiac physiology staff and sharing over-riding consultant responsibility for quality of reporting of non-invasive cardiac tests.
* Provide consultant reporting of tests to other medical and surgical teams.
* Liaison with anaesthetic and surgical colleagues for pre-operative cardiac assessments, on request.
* Develop subspecialty interest, as agreed with Cardiology Colleagues and Clinical Director.
* Provision of outpatient clinics, including Rapid Access Chest Pain and Heart Failure clinics, as agreed in Job Plan, with appropriate investigation, follow-up and onward referral.
* Professional supervision and management of junior medical staff.


* Excellent communication skills to deal with a wide range of colleagues and patients
* Apply knowledge you have gained during undergraduate medical education
* Good organisational ability and effective decision-making skills

All applicants must have experience working in UK hospitals and must be GMC registered.
