Clinical Specialist Radiographer (Radiation Safety Protection Officer), required by TTM Healthcare, on behalf of a large teaching hospital, based in Dublin City.
   
The Radiology Department in this hospital is actively involved in ongoing clinical research and training, to ensure the best possible service and covers a range of services including General, DEXA, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, Interventional, Fluoroscopy, Nuclear Medicine and Mammography.  

As Clinical Specialist Radiographer - Radiation Safety (Protection) Officer, you will have an essential role in service planning, co-ordinating, and managing activity and resources within the department regarding radiation safety.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

- Guide and provide a quality Radiography service with regard to radiation safety
- Develop, implement and maintain a Quality Assurance Programme for the X-Ray Department
- Participate in Clinical Audits as relevant to the post
- Conduct and record performance tests after routine service and /or major maintenance of X-Ray equipment
- Be involved in the commissioning of new X-Ray equipment
- Promote the ALARA principle
- Ensure that accurate records/logs of all incidents are maintained
- Assist in the development of Risk Management and Health and Safety strategies in association with appropriate personnel
- Promote and participate in research projects involving Radiation Safety

You will also be required to maintain and promote a high standard of Radiography, undertake X-ray and Imaging examinations as required, and to participate when required in the 'On-Call' rotas.

Key Requirements:

- BSc in Radiography or equivalent
- Minimum 6 years' post-qualification experience
- Recognised course in Radiation Safety 
- CORU Registration
- Experience working with PACS/RIS systems is desirable
- Be  familiar  with  and  observe  national  and  local  radiation  safety  rules, legislation and European directives
