Full Time

We are looking for full time Band 7 CAMHS Practitioners to support the team with the delivery of interventions, and if you have previously worked in a CAMHS service where the CAPA approach is used, to perhaps do some choice assessments too. The assignment would be for a minimum of 6 months with a possibility of extension to 12, and we are happy to bring on board a variety of professionals, from Social Workers and CPN's, to psychotherapists and psychologists.

* The CAMHS Therapist will provide and co-ordinate a therapeutic service for children (and their families) referred with mental health, developmental and related difficulties. They will plan their own workload and manage a specialist case load.
* The post holder will consult with, and train other professionals, trainees and assistants, and may supervise peers and junior staff from a variety of professional groups. This service will be provided for identified multi-disciplinary CAMHS team(s) and the post holder will contribute and participate in the continuing development of these services as agreed with their professional and clinical leads.
* The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
* The post holder will be required to use research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.
* Most of the post holder's work will be undertaken in clinics, but there may be some travel to clients' homes and other services/agencies.
* The service is moving towards implementation of CAPA (Choice and Partnership Approach) model of managing CAMHS demand and capacity. As this is adopted the post holder can anticipate a caseload of between 25 and 30 clients (including initial appointments) to be seen on a mixture of weekly and fortnightly basis.

In order to be considered for this position, you must be a qualified CBT Therapist, Psychotherapist or Clinical Psychologist with CAMHS experience, or a Social Worker or CPN.

If this position is of interest to you and you hold the relevant qualifications, then apply today! Alternatively, please contact Craig Johnson at Medacs Healthcare on 01785 236206 or email for a more detailed job description.
