In line with our journey of improving together, we are strengthening our leadership teams and have exciting opportunities for General Managers to operate across Surgery & Cancer, Women’s, Acute Paediatrics, Specialist Medicine and Acute Medicine.

The Associate General Manager will provide effective operational management support for divisional service areas, assisting the lead clinicians and senior managers as required and ensuring that these services are responsive, innovative and provided to the highest possible clinical and performance standards. Reporting to the General Manager, the Associate General Manager will be responsible for:

• Monitoring service delivery against strategic and business plans in identified specialties throughout the year to ensure successful delivery.
• Work with the General Manager to produce accurate, high quality business cases for service developments.
• Budget management.
• Work with service managers, lead nurses, clinical leads and wider teams to achieve sustained improvements.
• Deputise for, and act up on behalf of, the General Manager.
• Ensure that the divisional services provided are of a consistently high quality and deliver excellent patient experience.

The ideal candidate will be looking to step up into a General Manager role long-term, as you will also deputise for the General Manager’s as and when required. It is essential that you have operational management experience within acute sector and have a proven track record of meeting significant national targets. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate significant experience of staff management and budget management, including reducing costs, monitoring and determining corrective action.
