On behalf of my client we are recruiting for a Matron for the Romford area. This is a specialist low secure forensic service for men who are over the age of 50. Care is provided over two wards, both of which are 13 bedded male units and offer an age appropriate environment for those who also have a mental health/personality disorder and/or dementia, in need of physical health care needs.

You must be a highly motivated and experienced professional, you will bring at least five years previous relevant experience, together with managerial experience for a group of professional staff. You will also hold a relevant professional qualification (RMN) together with full membership/accreditation of a professional institution. A detailed understanding of statutory regulations is also required as are strong financial and people management skills.

You must have:-

NMC (Nursing & Midwifery Council Registered)

Clinical and management experience

Strong leadership and people management skills

Ability to harness the commitment and potential of others

Fine-tuned decision making skills

Excellent organisational capability

Effective communication skills

Motivated with a strong “can do” attitude

A role model to other staff - providing advice and support to promote good practice

Experience of working at a managerial level within a mental health environment;

Experience of managing a budget.

Experience of leading, implementing and reviewing quality initiatives in a related environment.

Strong track record of innovation.

The salary is £49,500 and the hours are 37.5 hour per week.
