My client is looking to recruit a Speciality Doctor with expertise of working in womens services and PICUs, who can provide care, assessment and treatment of patients with mental disorders in a 12 bedded Womens PICU unit.

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week holding Responsible Clinician duties for inpatients. It is supported by a full time speciality doctor and multidisciplinary team. The post has a 2nd on call medical rota, support by speciality doctors who provide the first on call cover. There are no out patient commitments.

You must have the following qualifications:-

MRCPsych qualification or equivalent

CCT in General/Forensic Psychiatry

Eligible for inclusion on the Register of the General Medical Council (GMC)

Approved under section 12(2) of the MHA 1983 (2007)

Have Approved Clinician status under the MHA 1983 / is eligible to work as a Responsible Clinician

Up-to-date knowledge in the field of PICU, including physical health, mental health and systemic factors.

Experience of working in an inpatient womens/ PICU setting, working with women who have personality disorders, traumatic stress and psychosis and with patients detained under the MHA.

Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation.

The suitable candidate will work with the Medical Director/Hospital Director and Senior Management Team to ensure effective clinical leadership of this inpatient service which has been newly established to support women with mental disorders address their mental health needs.
