The Northern Region is home to almost 4 in 10 New Zealanders, and its healthcare leaders have a good track record of working together to deliver innovation and change through the Northern Regional Alliance. Following government agreement to our long term vision for healthcare transformation for the next 20 years, we are now moving into the next phase of our work, to scale up our collaboration to further develop and deliver those changes in clinical services for patients.

Your work in the region will involve establishing new ways of working across organisations, putting in place systems and processes to achieve useful dynamic pictures at both a health system and project/initiative level, and ensuring requirements are built into the region’s approach to informatics.

You will work to help define and implement the improvements needed in clinical operational and financial data at service and patient level regionally to support collective improvement and track the progress in achieving the region’s long term health planning goals, working at the interface between clinical practice and informatics.

More about this fantastic opportunity:-
You will be an established graduate professional with experience working in a public healthcare system environment. It is essential that your tertiary qualification is in a relevant numerate discipline such as Health Management, Health Economics or Commerce/Business and ideally you will have a minimum of 3 year’s experience working within or at the interface with Healthcare informatics in a leadership capacity.

You will have hands-on experience of commanding the respect of clinicians and healthcare leaders and teams to use analytical insights and benchmarks to intelligently achieve sustained changes in clinical and operational practice. What makes you stand out however, will be your approach and the ability to build rapport and trust. This role will require an outgoing and personable approach and spending substantial time ‘front of house’ with leaders and staff at all levels. Therefore you will be comfortable both presenting and coaching in group and one to one settings, and able to surface concerns and respond constructively to challenge. Your outgoing and energetic leadership style will compliment an organised systematic and practical approach to tackling issues and opportunities, and drawing together teams.

You will have experience of performance development and goal setting and improvement methods, and ideally research evaluation methodology. Report writing will be your forte- and your reports will be clear, compelling, and well received at all levels.

The Northern Regional Alliance will be scaling up and partnering with clinicians and stakeholders in our Northern Region focusing on the use of clinically driven evidence to shape and influence our future. A successful track record and history of regional collaboration already exists and the Northern Regional Alliance is truly a vehicle to complement, enhance and support the District Health Board teams to deliver “joined up care”.
