Medacs Healthcare is currently looking for a Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine (CESR development post) to join a large NHS Trust based in Lancashire.

This post is designed for those clinicians who wish to gain entry to the specialist register via the CESR route, each clinician will have individually tailored support and training required to successfully complete all aspects of the CESR process. It will be possible to provide specific three month secondments to address relevant educational and competency needs. Secondments available include Anaesthesia, ITU, Acute Medicine and Paediatrics.

Duties will include all those duties normally expected of a Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine in the UK. The majority of the appointee’s time will be spent on clinical duties, however, an integral part of the post will be the supervision and teaching of training grade doctors on the shopfloor. In addition, the appointee will be expected to take part in the formal teaching and on-going audit programmes within the directorate as well as a full range of management duties commensurate with this role.

This post is 12 PA’s
Basic salary scale: £37,923 to £70,718 per annum depending on experience

The Trust are offering a recruitment and retention premia (RRP) with this post. The successful applicant will receive £4000 Recruitment Premia upon commencement in post (this payment is subject to tax and NI deductions).
In addition to this RRP, a relocation package of up to £8000 is also available to any doctor permanently relocating to the area.

Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
MBBS or equivalent (primary medical degree as recognised by the GMC)
ALS and at least one of: ATLS, APLS, ETC (or equivalent), MIMMS

4 years of postgraduate medical experience/ training of which at least 12 months must be in Emergency Medicine (at least 6 months of this should be in the UK in a training or middle grade post at CT3 level or above)

Ability to initiate appropriate initial management in common emergencies and to apply sound clinical knowledge and judgement.
