Medacs Healthcare is currently looking for a Consultant in Medical Oncology to be based at a large NHS Trust based in Somerset.

SALARY SCALE: £76,761 to £103,490 per annum

Main Responsibilities
- To provide site specific oncological support to colorectal multi-disciplinary team, along with one other site (to be agreed in discussion with appointee).

- To work collaborative with colleagues across the county and wider Cancer Network in order to deliver an equitable and high quality service to all patients

- To provide, to a high standard, the full range of specialist diagnosis, treatment and care to patients requiring oncology services as outlined in the proposed program.

- To support the nursing team within the Macmillan Oncology Unit in order to provide a comprehensive outpatient (and outreach) chemotherapy service

- To develop the clinical trials portfolio across cancer services, working with the Research Unit within the organisation and as part of the research network.


- MBBS and MRCP or equivalent
- Full GMC Registration with a license to practice
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via:
 - CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview date)
 - CESR
 - European Community Rights

- Depth and breadth of clinical experience in 2 or more tumor sites to include either colorectal or breast with upper gastrointestinal cancers
- Experience in a special interest that will complement those existing in the department
