Medacs Healthcare is currently looking for a Consultant in General Medicine with an interest in Stroke Medicine to be based at a large NHS Trust based in Somerset.

SALARY SCALE: £76,761 to £103,490 per annum
The post is full time and the postholder will be contracted for 11 PAs.

Job Purpose

• Support the Development of Stroke Services

• Community services

• Medical and/or specialty outpatient clinics (2/week)

• Medical education

The stroke team is currently part of the Elderly care team and the both are fully integrated with General Internal Medicine.

Stroke Services
The Hospital provides the following stroke services:

• Hyperacute and Acute stroke
• 24/7 stroke Thrombolysis supported by the AGWS stroke network
• Dedicated TIA clinics
• Outpatient clinics
• Rehabilitation
• Stroke Research.

Requirements:
- MBBS and MRCP or equivalent
- Full GMC Registration with a license to practice
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via:
 CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview date)
 CESR
 European Community Rights

- Depth and breadth of experience in General Internal Medicine and Stroke/Elderly Care following completion of approved STR training programme or equivalent.
- Experience in a special interest that will complement those existing in the department.
