We are currently advertising exciting opportunities for Healthcare Assistants in South and North Dublin


* Must have FETAC Level 5 in care of the Elderly
* Resident in Ireland, preferably Dublin
* Experience with Dementia and/or Alzheimer's in a Nursing home enviroment is desireable but not essential

Remuneration: Attractive package
Type of role: full time, permanent


The Care Assistant works as a member of a team delivering care to the residents via the Named Nurse concept. As a team member the Care Assistant contributes to the fulfillment of the nursing home's philosophy of care, ensuring the resident's privacy, dignity, respect and choice and supports the Named Nurse in the delivery of nursing care.

Main Activities

1 Enable and assist resident to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance
2 Enable and assist resident to eat and drink
3 Enable and assist resident to access and use toilet facilities, participating in individual continence promotion programme
4 Enable and assist resident to maintain and improve their mobility
5 Contribute to the movement and treatment of resident to maximise their physical comfort
6 Enable and assist resident to achieve physical comfort
7 Promote mobility of resident, supervising and assisting as necessary to ensure resident retains optimum mobility
8 Maintain high level of communication between resident's family and staff developing good relationships
9 Participate in organising and carrying out social activities
10 Assisting in the maintenance of a high standard of cleanliness in the home
11 Contributes to the maintenance of Health and Safety in the Home
Awareness of following essential:
* COSHH Regulation (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health)
* Health and Safety Policy/Legislation
* Risk Assessment
* Manual Handling
* Lectures and fire drill
* Proper procedure for operating laundry equipment

General Duties
* General hygiene duties
* Care of resident clothing and property
* Assist with outings and activities
* Participate in an induction programme and ongoing staff training
* Any other duties deemed necessary by Nurse in Charge
