Medacs Healthcare is currently looking for a Specialty Dr in Geriatrics to work in a large NHS hospital based in Nottinghamshire.

Salary Scale: £37,547 - £70,018 per annum for 10 Programmed Activities

Contract type: Full time/Fixed term

Contract length: 12 months

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Department. The department is looking for enthusiastic, positive individuals who have the drive to become Consultants in Geriatrics and have a passion and are committed to improving the care given to elderly patients.

These posts are all 10 programmed activities and will include some on call commitments. The individual timetables will be discussed with the successful candidates at interview.

Support will be provided to obtain competencies as set out in the curriculum, for training including specialty experience in Acute Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Cardiology and other areas that are considered to be relevant. Regular training sessions to achieve core knowledge will be arranged, this will include study leave and funding for required courses e.g. ALS. Within the job plan there is time specifically set aside for academic work, education, audit and management development - this will form one programmed activity per week for supporting professional activities. A mentor/Clinical Supervisor will be allocated from amongst the Consultant body.
