As a front line care worker you'll support people in different ways to help them live more independently.

(Covering the North Bristol Area)

If you are an experienced carer (and this can be experience gained within the family) looking for a new role we have the job for you!

Desirable Requirements: Full drivers licence and access to car Some care work experience

Essential Requirements: Proof of right to work in the UK Good flexibility and availability

Your role as a support worker:

* organising and supporting people with social and physical activities
* booking and going with people to appointments
* helping with personal care such as showering and dressing
* Monitoring people's health for example measuring body temperatures or administering medication.

If you wish to apply you must have good spoken and written English.

Number, digital and employability skills including team work and problem solving skills are beneficial to the role.

There are also some specific skills needed to work in this role. These include

* the ability to work on your own initiative and prioritise your workload
* good listening and communication skills
* the ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
* Good writing skills to fill in care plans.

What Qualifications would you need?

You don't necessarily need any qualifications to become a care worker. What's really important is that you have the right values and behaviours to work in social care and to be part of Medacs.

We like you to have qualifications showing good English and number skills, it's a bonus if you have a social care qualification such as a Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care. But if you don't that's not a problem we give everyone an opportunity to study NVQ within Medacs and work towards higher levels.
