Registered Manager – Gavin Astor House

Permanent full time role based in Gavin Astor House, Aylesford

38 hours per week


About Gavin Astor House:

RBLI are recruiting a full time, permanent experienced Nursing Home Manager to take responsibility of Gavin Astor House, a high dependency nursing home. Located in the grounds of Preston Hall on the Royal British Legion Village, Gavin Astor House is a 50 bed, purpose built facility with en-suite facilities for residents and has been successfully operating for over 25 years. We’re looking for a strong ‘hands-on’ manager with highly developed leadership and management skills to continue to raise the bar in terms of the quality and the care that we provide.


About The Role:

  • Overseeing all day to day operations of the 50 bed nursing home
  • This is a role for which you will need to become registered with the regulator
  • Leading and inspiring a multi-disciplinary team, they’ll look to you to provide outstanding, truly personalised care to their residents
  • You will share their passion for putting the needs and wellbeing of the residents first, finding new ways to enrich their resident’s lives within the home and delivering outstanding customer care for them and their relatives
  • You will manage all aspects of their home, including identifying new business opportunities, effectively managing budgets, taking responsibility for the operating profit of the home
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance is maintained across all relevant areas

About You:

  • Registered Nurse
  • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise, plus management qualification
  • You may have previous experience of seeing organisations through periods of change
  • You will know how to make a positive difference within a heavily regulated sector, as you’ll have a strong commercial acumen and strategic mind
  • The ability to develop an environment which focuses on continuous improvements
  • An effective communicator, with a confident and influential leadership style

Terms and Conditions for the role are as follows:

Salary: £50-60,000 per annum

Hours: 38 per week, Mon to Fri, flex required to work evening and weekends where required

25 days annual leave, plus bank/public holidays

Location: Gavin Astor House, Aylesford, ME20 7NF

Residents are able to access 24-hour care with privacy and dignity in a home-from-home environment. In addition, a wide selection of activities provided by our in-house Activities Co-ordinator and our Village Community Health and Wellbeing Officer mean there are many social opportunities available amongst a vibrant Armed Forces Veteran community of all ages.
