FY1 – General / Acute Medicine

Department: Acute Medical Unit

Location: George Eliot Hospital, Nuneaton

We are seeking to appoint a House Officer - FY1 to start as soon as possible for a 6 month post with a possibility to extend.

The Division of Medicine at the George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust is delighted to be able to present an opportunity for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to contribute to the development of its innovative and high performing services.

Successful candidates will be joining a trust with excellent professional and academic links with the University of Warwick Medical School and which boasts a first class modern education and conference facility in the George Eliot Training and Education Centre (GETEC) on the main hospital site. The trust is currently undergoing an exciting period of transformation in order to achieve our stated aim of excelling at patient care and providing services which make our local communities proud and which other providers strive to emulate.

You will serve a diverse population of over a quarter of a million people in a catchment area encompassing large cities, market towns and rural villages. The lifestyle opportunities range from big city living in neighbouring Birmingham, Coventry and Leicester with their abundant cultural and lifestyle facilities, to more sedate settings in the many attractive villages in the Warwickshire and Leicestershire countryside.

It has recently been confirmed that the Trust will pursue our goal to deliver excellent care to the local community as an independent organisation rather than entering into a formal partnership with another entity. This news demonstrates confidence at a national level in the improvements the Trust continues to make following the Keogh Review of July 2013.

Applicants should hold full GMC Registration
