NATIONAL LOCUMS HAVE BEEN ASKED TO SOURCE A SHO DOCTOR IN HAEMATOLOGY FOR A CLIENT BASED IN SOUTH EAST LONDON.

King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC), is one of the UK’s largest and busiest teaching hospitals with a turnover of nearly £1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 11,500 staff based across 5 main sites in South East London.

The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King’s College Hospital (KCH) site in Camberwell and the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in Bromley.

Department of Haematological Medicine

Trust SHO in Haematology: 1 post

Applications are invited to work in the Department of Haematological Medicine at King’s College Hospital, starting March 2017 for a minimum period of 6 months. This is an exciting opportunity to join a centre of excellence specialising in haemato-oncology, bone marrow transplantation, red cell disorders, coagulation and transfusion medicine. The Haematology medical team comprises 25 Consultant Haematologists, 1 Clinical Lecturer, 15 Specialist Registrars, 3 Senior Clinical Fellows and 11 SHOs.

There are ample educational and training opportunities. The Trust Doctor post does not have formal educational recognition but appointees will work alongside ST2 doctors in recognised posts on an equal basis. On-call commitment 1:10 full shift rota. Appointment will be for a period of 6 months in the first instance, starting 3rd March 2017.

The posts will provide excellent haematology experience and plentiful educational opportunities.

Please note the salary scale for this post is subject to change from August 2016 and will be confirmed to you once finalised. However, this will most likely be in accordance with the junior doctors salary scale implemented by the Trust from August 2016.
