Xander Hendrix healthcare are recruiting for a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist on a 12 month fixed term contract for one of our clients in Northern Ireland.

All the consultant psychiatrists, along with other senior CAMHS staff are invited to attend the weekly referral meeting chaired by the team manager. At this meeting decisions are made as to which referrals are accepted and, of those accepted, which aspect of the service they are then allocated to: primary mental health, tier 3, CAMHS IT or paediatric psychology. Allocation of work and case management will be in accordance with the operational policies of the service.

Responsibilities may include psychiatric input to an intensive home treatment service developed for young people with psychiatric disturbance who otherwise would require hospital admission.

The detailed job plan will be agreed with the successful candidate at the time of appointment to meet service needs, taking account of the experience, skills and interests of the candidate and how they can best be used within the consultant team.

Must have at least 3 years’ postgraduate experience.
Candidate must have GMC registration or be in the process of obtaining it.
