Are you an enthusiastic and passionate individual who is looking to expand and grow your career in Audiology? An excellent locum opportunity has arisen in the Windsor area for Band 5 Augiologist to do a mixture of hospital work and community visits.

You will be working for a well established NHS trust who's vision is to provide the best care in the right place; developing and delivering excellent services in local communities with people and their families to improve their health, well-being and independence.

Your impact and duties:
* Work unsupervised whilst performing all standard hearing tests for both adults and children (>3 years of age) following professional standards and protocols.
* Assist senior Audiologists in performing advanced audiological procedures.
* Take detailed medical and audiological histories, interpret test results and explain these to patients, relatives and carers in an appropriate, empathetic manner, being sensitive to the complex communication difficulties of patients who are Deaf or hard of hearing.
* Advise the adult patient on audiological management options and agree a treatment plan with them.
* Perform physical examination of the ear and inspection of the ear canal and eardrum using an otoscope. Recognise referable ear conditions using clinical judgement and procedural guidelines.
* Take a specialised and accurate ear impression by syringing dedicated earmould material into the ear canal in accordance with procedural guidelines. This will require effective communication with and the co-operation of the patient.
* Select and fit analogue and digital signal processing hearing aids using computer based programming software in accordance with protocols.
* Verify hearing aid fitting using highly skilled real ear measurements. This involves the insertion of probe tubes deep into the patient's ear canal to within 3mm of the eardrum. This will require effective communication with and the co-operation of the patient.
* Instruct and guide the patient in operation and maintenance of the hearing aid, adapting the instructions and approach to accommodate the patient's communication and physical difficulties.

Education and Qualifications:
*HCPC Registered
*BSc or MSc in Audiology

Experience and Knowledge:
*Auditbase and Siemens Hearing aid knowledge
*Valid uk driving licence and own transport
*Community experience
