Specialty Doctor T&O - £44,611 - £83,190 based on 12 PA’s + annual leave, study leave, pension.

Medacs Healthcare is currently recruiting Specialty Doctors (middle grade level) in Trauma and Orthopaedics. The position is within a large University Health Board based in Wales.

Location: North Wales

The on-call Orthopaedic team is responsible for the initial management of all trauma admissions apart from abdominal or vascular injury. Good support is available from tertiary centres in Merseyside for treatment of head injury and burns. The Specialty Doctor will be expected to be capable of managing the common patterns of Orthopaedic Trauma without direct supervision.

Specialty Doctors will be offered support if they wish to take the FRCS (T&O) examination. In turn, specialty doctors will be expected to contribute to the supervision and training of junior medical staff and also to the training and mentorship of Orthopaedic Practitioners.

There is a trauma week rota and during this week there are no elective commitments but there are trauma clinics in the morning and trauma theatre sessions in the afternoon. There are additional training opportunities to do trauma lists.
