Hours - 37.5 over 24 hours, 7 days per week.

We are seeking a Ward Manager to join our well established clients in there award winning site in Nottingham.
Our Client is an independent sector provider of services for women with mental health problems.

They are an established market leader in the provision of the highest quality services for women with a diagnosis of mental illness and/or personality disorder and/or learning disability.

Job Overview:

The ward manager post is a critical position within one of the units, both in terms of ensuring the smooth operational running of the ward and ensuring that the nursing team provides the best possible clinical care for our patients. In recognition of both managerial and clinical responsibilities, the ward manager will report to the Clinical Director for all management issues and receive managerial and clinical supervision. The ward manager will also work closely with the Service Director and the Clinical Director for research and development and operational issues.

Job Purpose:

There are 9 key domains in which the ward manager will be expected to deliver;

1.Holding the unit coordinator role whist on duty to support one of the units. Coordinating and support physical healthcare and section 17 and support colleagues by ensuring ward manger presence at ward rounds and CPA's

2. To work collaboratively with the existing ward managers to support the nursing team, providing clinical expertise and leadership in the delivery of 24 hour nursing care, supporting them to make the best possible clinical decisions and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

3 .To work collaboratively with the existing ward mangers to ensure consistency in the day to day operational management of the ward, this includes staff cover, the implementation of policies and procedures and liaison with estates and hotel services to ensure the ward operates effectively.

4. Assigned primarily to a demanding admission ward to support the existing ward manager to address key areas of compliance and nursing practice. Supporting nursing staff by assisting in the delivery of clinical supervision

5. To be flexible and provide support to other wards when the service requires and provide strong leadership and clinical expertise in the absence of the substantive ward manager. Ward mangers are required to be part of the ward compliment of staff when needed

6. Act as the senior nurse manager for the ward, liaising with wider members of the MDT to ensure care packages are effectively delivered, representing the ward at MDTs and management meetings and positively promoting the ward with external agencies and commissioners

7. To contribute to the implementation of the company's business plan, to include working with HR, Finance and IT to manage staff sickness issues, cost control and improvement, service evaluations and nurse development and training.

8. To undertake other areas of responsibility as defined by your line manager in order to ensure compliance with CQC and standards, e.g meet training requirements.

9. On-call responsibility as required by the Service.
