Yeovil district hospital foundation trust is looking for a consultant in urology.

 

Yeovil hospital serves over 185,000 people leaving in the South Somerset and Dorset area. In a recent audit, the CQC awarded Yeovil hospital fantastic ratings. It is also rated in the top 10 Health care employers in the country. The hospital has recently had a £7million expansion, which includes a new state of the art high dependency and coronary care centre.

 

Yeovil hospital consists of a rich multicultural workforce, employing over 40 nationalities. The Hospital has been used as an example of good practice across the region, for equality and diversity by NHS employers.

 

The Emergency Medicine department underwent a renovation in 2001 to make the centre much more modern. It now has three bay resuscitation rooms, 6 major bays, five minor bays, an eye room, paediatric room, as well as the ambulatory emergency care area. The emergency department cares for over 46,000 patients per year.

 

Yeovil is a fantastic area to live and work, Yeovil is a tourist attraction area providing both country side and seaside views. The area has fantastic public transport, within close proximity to international airports.

 

About the role:

 

At Yeovil, the urology department treats many  urological cancers, kidney stones, bladder symptoms. The department deals with inpatient routine and emergency clinical activities. Common conditions include enlargement of the prostate, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, kidney cancer, penile cancer, testis cancer, erectile dysfunction (ED), over-active bladder, PUJ obstruction and urinary tract stones.

 

Urological cases have grown at the hospital, they are dealing with 100 more cases each year.
