Medacs Healthcare is looking for Speciality Doctor in Orthopaedic Surgery to work in a large University Health Board based in Wales.

Salary Scale: £37,547 - £70,018 per annum for 10 Programmed Activities
Contract type: Full time/Fixed term
Contract length: 12 months

Typical weekly sessions will include:
 3/4 Outpatient Clinics (Orthopaedic/Fracture)
 2/3 Elective surgery sessions
 Trauma week sessions
 1 Ward Round/Admin
 1/2 Education/Audit/Research/Management

Out of hours: 1:9 person on call system (including weekend rota) with prospective cover. The rota is compliant with EWTD. Full shift working may be required in future depending on development in junior staffing. Out of hours on-calls are non-resident.
The on-call Orthopaedic team is responsible for the initial management of all trauma admissions apart from abdominal or vascular injury. Good support is available from tertiary centres in Merseyside for treatment of head injury and burns. The Specialty Doctor will be expected to be capable of managing the common patterns of Orthopaedic Trauma without direct supervision.

Candidates must have completed either MRCS or FRCS, and actively want to pursue a career in Trauma & Orthopaedics.
Full GMC Registration with Licence to practice is required.
