Medsol Health Care are working with a prestigious client in the Luton area.

Are you a Band 5/6 Social worker looking for your next challenge? If so we need you.

This is a 3 month locum role and may extended for the right candidate. Band 5- full time or Band 6 4 days a week.

Job Responsibilities:

• To provide an assessment and care management service for people with mental health problems and in accordance with the joint Essex Care Programme Approach for service users with severe mental illness
• To facilitate the rehabilitation of such people by working in partnership with other agencies, professionals and patients families.
• Provision for the full range of social work tasks within the context of a joint agency, multi-disciplinary Mental Health Team.
• To complete assessments and /or social history reports to assist in the treatment and care planning process within Secure Service and according to the inter-agency comprehensive assessment and risk assessment procedures.
• To liaise with Special Hospitals, Regional Secure Units, Prisons, Probation, other local authorities and other agencies to ensure effective communication and co-ordination of services in respect of former, current and prospective Service Users.
• To complete reports as may be required for example the MHRT, Hospital Managers, the Home Office, Parole Boards and Courts.
• Present reports at Tribunal and Hospital Manager’s Hearings.
• To provide advice, guidance and support, as may be required on a day to day basis, to Service Users, their families and/or carers and the health professionals engaged in their care and treatment.
• To ensure the provision of aftercare, support and supervision to people discharged into the community under the Care programme Approach, National Service Framework requirements, Section 117 of the Mental Health Act, the various restriction orders under this Act, the Patients in the Community Act 1995 and the Carer’s Act 1995.
• A good understanding of the various Funding Panels for Bedford and Luton and related processes and paperwork.
• To ensure that Child Safeguarding Policies and Procedures are adhered to.
• Be the SafeGuarding lead for their respective ward and undertake Safeguarding Investigations as allocated.
