PRINCIPAL DUTIES OF THE POST

The principle duty of this post is to provide a comprehensive clinical service to patients from and around Scarborough.

1 To, at all times, comply with the GMC requirements of Duties of a Doctor

1 To ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.

1 To undertake duties as defined within the job description in so far as practicable and in agreement with your clinical director.

1 To be responsible and managerially accountable for the reasonable and effective use of any Trust resources that you use and influence, and professionally accountable to the Medical Director.

1 On commencement to ensure personal attendance at the Trust's Corporate Induction.

1 To participate in the Trust's statutory and mandatory training programme

1 To be responsible for the clinical management of in and out patients under your care.

1 To comply with Trust policies and procedures where appropriate.

1 To ensure that all intellectual property rights of the Trust are observed.

Medacs Healthcare is currently recruiting for SPR Doctors in REspiratory for the large Trust in Yorkshire.

The salar scale is up to £85,000 per year

THE POST

This is a Trust Grade post in Respiratory, and would typically involve working on the Respiratory / Diabetes Unit - Beech Ward, attending Consultant ward rounds and Beech Ward cover, as well as cross covering absence for colleagues within the Respiratory Department. Beech ward hosts patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions including chronic and acute respiratory disorders, airways diseases and lung cancers.

There will be the opportunity to attend outpatient clinics supervised by one of the Consultants.

There will be the opportunity for the post holder to undertake training in bronchoscopy.

The post holder will be expected to keep up to date with current knowledge and practice, and to attend clinical meetings within the department, and to participate in audit and mandatory training.

The post holder will be required to deputise from time to time for absent colleagues, and to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.

The post holder will also be required to be available exceptionally for such irregular commitments outside normal rostered duties as are essential for continuity of patient care.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

There are locally run ALS courses on which a place would be available if required.

There is an active postgraduate educational programme centred within the Postgraduate Centre & a well-stocked postgraduate library. The postholder will be encouraged to attend regular meetings both regionally & nationally by arrangement with the Consultants & when funding is available.

The post holder would be encouraged to participate in the regular weekly teaching sessions run for the junior doctors. The postholder will be expected to actively participate in the departments' audit activities.

Study time is provided within the middle grade rota to allow for these activities

The requirement is Full regiatration with the GMC or in progress.

TIER2 is provided.
