This is a rare opportunity for a high quality manager to run a 50-bed residential elderly/EMI care home with a high degree of responsibility and decision-making autonomy. A superb remuneration package in the region of £50-60K is on offer.

Location

The home is located near Sheffield (easily accessible from Sheffield, Barnsley & Rotherham)

Key Information

THE COMPANY:

* The home is part of a well-established, independently-owned group of 15 care homes.

THE CARE HOME:

* The service provides excellent facilities and care for elderly and EMI residents. The home is well-designed and laid out, so it's very easy to monitor everything that's going on.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

* Our client is looking for a very high calibre registered manager, who is capable of running the home with a considerable degree of autonomy.
* Reporting directly to the owner, you will be entrusted with a high level of decision-making responsibility and afforded an opportunity to put your own stamp on the operation and really make a mark.
* As well as taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service, you will be tasked with achieving a number of key objectives, including:
* Addressing the issues that led to the CQC giving the home a 'requires improvement' rating at the most recent inspection and putting a structure in place to ensure the home maintains a good rating moving forward.
* Reducing the turnover of staff (this has running at too high a level over the last couple of years).
* Increasing the proportion of privately-funded residents and the average weekly fee.
* Planning and organising a moderate facelift/refurbishment programme.
* The owners will provide whatever backing you might need in order to achieve these objectives - but you're the person who will need to make the plan and make it happen!
* They also have planning permission to create a further 10 bedrooms but the objectives outlined above will need to be met before this development can be considered further, so no definite timeframe exists for this project at the moment.
* There is a good deputy in place already and you will be supported in your role by a fantastic administrator who has been with the home for many years.

Key Benefits

* An exceptional salary + bonus package is on offer, with annual earnings of £50-60K entirely achievable.

Key Skills and Qualifications

* Applicants must have the necessary skills, experience and qualifications to be the CQC Registered manager.
* You must be able to run the home with minimal supervision and given the level of autonomy, it's likely that suitable candidates will have at least 4 years prior care home management experience.
* You must be able to demonstrate strong CQC compliance skills and a sound track record of achieving compliance in any recent management role you've held.
* We really need someone in place by mid-December, so we are regrettably unable to consider candidates who need to give more than 1 months' notice to their current employer.
