We are currently recruiting A&E nurses for very busy accident and emergency department in Essex. Our client is a District General Hospital providing acute services to people of West Essex and East Hertfordshire and has a positive and successful approach to developing and delivering health care. Hospital is located 25 minutes from Central London by train.

The Trust is climbing the performance league tables and was shortlisted this year for the forst ever National Compassionate Patient Care Award and fisnished runner - up in the 500 entry Guardian Public Service Award for measuring excellence.

Main duties and responsibilities:


understanding triage, which is a method of prioritizing injuries based on medical need

emergency nurse must have the ability to make quick and accurate assessments about incoming patients, including both physical and mental health conditions


Time management is crucial in this job. Along with triage, emergency nurses must quickly ascertain the following information from incoming patients:


Identify the medical problem

Document medical history

Check for any allergies and current medications

Obtain height, weight, body temperature, heart rate and blood pressure


emergency nurses are expected to comply with protocols, procedures and safety policies of a health care facility. Emotional stability, communication, leadership, sympathy and attention to detail


moving patients, taking blood samples, cleaning and bandaging wounds, administering medications and maintaining proper supplies of medical equipment.


* minimum 1 year experience in A&E, ICU, CCU or ITu department
* NMC register
