HCL Permanent is currently looking for a CONSULTANT RESPIRATORY PHYSICIAN

WITH INTEREST IN ADULT CYSTIC FIBROSIS  for a Trust, which is a dynamic and thriving group of hospitals in the heart of Bristol, a vibrant and culturally diverse city

Applications are invited for a full time substantive Consultant post in Respiratory Medicine and Adult Cystic Fibrosis (CF).  The successful applicant will join a dynamic and welcoming Respiratory and CF team to provide inpatient and outpatient care for patients 

The Acute Medical Unit has recently been transformed with new premises and is working towards an fully integrated Acute model of Care.  We currently have 3 Acute Physicians leading the AMU, supported by Specialty ‘in-reach’ plus the take Consultant of the day.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a)    Clinical:

The successful applicant will have responsibility for the care of the patients entrusted to him or her.  All consultants are expected to have a flexible attitude towards the work of the Directorate.  

The successful candidates will be expected to comply with all relevant Trust policies relating to administration of patient care. This includes working to set timescales for the triage of referrals, the completion of discharge summaries prior to patients being discharged, following the specific process for the management of patients that do not attend (DNA) their appointment or admission, and the completion of all paperwork deemed necessary to support the management of their patients within agreed timescales. Consultants are also expected to work with service managers and clinical colleagues to manage their caseload in a flexible way, to ensure clinical, national and local, priorities, such as maximum waiting times for referral to treatment, are achieved.

This post will have 10 programmed activities (PA).  There will be an option to negotiate an increase to up to 12 PAs subsequent to appointment, if clear evidence is produced that the workload justifies this.

This is a permanent position in the NHS and the successful applicant will receive a salary based on the NHS Specialist registrar pay scale £69,325 - £101,451 depending on your wealth of knowledge within your field of medicine.

Although UK experience is not essential; you must hold a full GMC registration or be eligible for registration and be genuinely committed to gain the GMC registration. The Trust will provide Tier 2 Visa Sponsorship for overseas doctors.
