A number of new and exciting opportunities for Clinical Disability Assessors have become available across the UK. They are one year long fixed term contracts starting as soon as possible. We have got opportunities available in Birmingham, Cardiff, Newport, Peterborough, Derby, Stafford, Dudley and Walsall.

The position is 37.5 hours per week, over Monday to Saturday. If you are working in the community, it will be a standard 9-5 day, and if you are working in the clinic it will be a shift rota pattern, working either 8am-1pm or 1pm-6pm.

The salary is £34,000 plus travel expenses.

The main duties of the job include screening and assessing people's disabilities and impairments to see how it affects their daily activities and living. This would be done by meeting people in their own homes or in consultation centres.

As the job is predominantly based on holistically assessing individuals we will be looking for candidates with assessment experience from one or more of the following fields, physical health, mental health, mobility, functionality, activities of daily living, social background, patient history or home environment.

As a Disability Assessor, you will be required to complete a report following each assessment. This report is usually around 2000 words long and will require full justification as to why you feel the individual deserves (or does not deserve) to be awarded Personal Independence Payment. We are looking for candidates with experience of completing complex reports or documentation. This can include tribunal reports, assessment reports or care plans.

To be considered for the job it is a prerequisite that you will have a degree, diploma or equivalent in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy combined with a current HCPC registration. As a large portion of your time will be typing up and compiling reports it is imperative that you have got strong typing skills and you're computer literate as you'll be typing as you're assessing.

Due to the nature of the job it is essential that you have got a driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
