HCL Permanent is looking for an Associate Specialist Grade A&E doctor to join a fantastic University Trust in the picturesque County of Lancashire.
The posts are based in the attractive historic place in Lancashire. There is a vibrant cultural life in the city, in part the result of being a university city. There are strong academic links between the Trust and University. Road and rail communications to the rest of England, Scotland and Wales are good and there is a regular ferry to the Isle of Man. Manchester is one hour's drive away and London 2.5 hours by train.

The new Trust provides an extensive range of acute, emergency and continuing care to a population of 350,000 in South Cumbria and North Lancashire.
This 465 bedded hospital has all major specialties on site, including Coronary Care, Intensive Care and two 24 hour CT scanners and MR unit. The Centenary Building opened in 1996 provided new Surgical, ITU and theatre facilities, so that all specialities are on the same hospital site. A new MR and spiral CT was commissioned in summer 2001 adjacent to the Emergency department, one additional CT has been newly added to the suite. The Day Surgical Unit is in the older building and a new Out-Patient Department was opened in May 1998. There is a helipad on site.
A vast range of outdoor pursuits are available including close proximity to the Lake District, Forest of Bowland, Pennines, and activities on rivers and sea. The city is well served with sporting facilities, clubs and opportunities, including a new swimming pool, tartan athletic track, and a range of facilities including all weather pitches
The Emergency Department at the main hospital sees around 60,000 new patients a year with a seasonal variation. The hospital i an accredited Trauma Unit and participates in the North West Trauma network.
The ED has been newly renovated in 2012 and now provides a high standard of environmental clinical areas and equipment.
The department is equipped to receive patients who are critically injured from the South Lakes area as well as the Lancaster District. There is 24hr Reception cover.
You must be:
- Fully GMC registered
- Have MRCEM or equivalent qualification
- Be able to relocate in 3 months
- Tier 2 Visa sponsorship is available
- £8k relocation package
The payscale will be within the NHS guidelines of £52,643 - £86,665 which is dependent on experience and will increase each year. Additional PA’s will top up your salary and your working well will be 40 hours.
