Medacs Heathcare is currently recruitng a Consultant in Acute Medicine for the large Trust in west Midlands.

The salaryu scale is up to £104,000 for 40 hours per year plus 20% for each extra session.

The Trust has invested in a rapid restructuring and development of Acute Medical Services. This has resulted in Medical and Nursing Staff expansion as well as investment in estates. These Consultant Acute Physician posts will be based within the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust and will join the existing Consultant Acute Physicians. Each team will be working to the same Job Plan that supports the running of the Acute Medical Ward (AMU), Short Stay Unit (SSU), and Ambulatory Care Unit 5 days a week. It is envisaged that upon obtaining all Substantive Appointments there will be opportunities for cross site working. The post attracts 11 PA's including 2 SPAs, 1.2 on call and 1 admin session.

A provisional weekly job plan is attached There is a rolling rota and this is flexible to accommodate any specialist interests you may have and want to pursue upon appointment. We recognise that individual requirements for speciality sessions vary with individual interests and we are committed to support individual needs.

The Acute Physicians are responsible for Medical admissions admitted weekdays between 08:00 and 16:00. It is expected that you will provide an early senior opinion on the day of admission and provide a formal PTWR the following morning. The Job Plan also supports a daily ward round on the SSU and an afternoon session supporting the Ambulatory Care Unit. One would expect an Acute Physician to see approximately 8 to 10 patients per working day on the Ambulatory Unit. On leaving the AMU or SSU, Patients become the responsibility of the Consultant responsible for the ward that they move to. This is determined by the ward base and ward linkages system.

The requirement: Full GMC registration and relevant experience.

TIEr2 visa is provided.
