Medacs Healthcare is currently recruiting for a Consultant in Geriatrics at the large Trusts in East Midlands.

The salary scale is up to £104,000 per year for 40 hours plus 20% for each extra session.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, pro-active team player with a commitment to improving services for older people to join the existing consultants in the department. The post is advertised as a 10 PA post. We would strongly recommend and encourage any interested individuals to visit the hospital and talk to members of the department to discuss the job further and to see for themselves what the post has to offer. There are many exciting developments taking place within the department and within the Trust at the moment.

The post holder will be responsible for approximately 12 patients on one of the acute geriatric wards and will be supported by a team consisting of a middle grade doctor and 2 junior doctors in addition to the multi-disciplinary team (MDT). We operate a ward-based system of care i.e. the majority of the post-holder's in-patients will be on Ward 51. Most of these patients are transfers from the MAU (or non-medical wards) who have been assessed as being appropriate for geriatric care.

The post holder will be required to take part in the acute medicine on-call rota.
