Salary:  £77,529 - £104,525 + 8%  on call availability

Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Palliative Medicine. This is an opportunity to join our enthusiastic and motivated Medical Team. The Ayrshire Hospice provides Specialist Palliative Care and services to people affected by life limiting illness across Ayrshire. Working in partnership with NHS Ayrshire and Arran and other agencies we aim to promote excellence in palliative care through facilitation, enablement and support in all settings. Acknowledged as a centre of specialist palliative care expertise, the organisation is committed to research , education and training. Professional development is essential to ensure that the Hospice takes a leading role in facilitating the highest quality, evidence-based and person-centred care.

You will join our team of three Consultants in Palliative Medicine (including this post), an Associate Specialist, Specialty doctor, Specialty trainee in Palliative Medicine and GPST2, to provide senior medical input for patients with specialist palliative care needs in our 20 bedded in patient unit and for the Hospital Palliative Care Team University Hospital Crosshouse. The Hospice is actively committed to Education and training.  You will provide medical support for the Hospice Educational, and Quality Improvement programmes and the successful candidate will be supported to develop the required skills within the GMC Recognition of Trainers framework. CPD and Special Interests will be encouraged.

Applicants must be on the GMCs Specialist Register. Full registration with a license to practise with the GMC is required.
