TXM Healthcare are currently recruiting for a permanent Consultant with previous CAMHS experience, for a CAMHS Team in West Dorset.

Dorset Healthcare is a dynamic, forward-thinking Trust, running 14 local hospitals and providing a wide range of integrated community and mental health services to a population of almost 700,000 people.

Job description:
You will be joining an experienced, well-supported team, which has an excellent reputation amongst its peers. Working as part of this wider, innovative team and services across West Dorset, which includes a team leader, an associate specialist child psychiatrist (3 days), nurse therapist, behavioural therapist, family therapy, crisis workers, occupational therapist, psychologist and social worker.
With close links with the West Dorset CAMHS team, based 9 miles away on the District Hospital site, there are opportunities to create more structured duty and cross cover working arrangements with the medics in that team. In addition there is a robust crisis and duty system run during working hours. The CAMHS service in the trust is currently developing robust pathways of care, in agreement with the CCG, covering both internal DHUFT service provision and external health and statutory services and the third sector.

It is actively moving towards implementing the Thrive model which builds on the current well-developed community links. A Child Behaviour Assessment Clinic, run jointly by community paediatricians, patch paediatricians, the parenting service and the associate specialist in CAMHS, has been successfully piloted in this area. The new post holder could join this clinic if they wish. This pilot reflects the very good links with the local paediatricians who assess and treat neurodevelopmental disorders without mental health comorbidity.

What the Trust offer:
A unique, complex caseload of clients who have a diverse range of socio economic backgrounds associated to locations with both a social need and of a rural nature.
Integrated working with other Young People’s Services
NHS annual and study leave entitlement
NHS Pension
0.75 of a PA plus 3% for on-call duties
Excellent support network
Opportunity to apply for Clinical Lead and tutor posts when available
Support with relocation expenses
