Consultant in Respiratory Medicine

Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Chest Physician at a Prestigious Hospital in the South West of England.

The hospital are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join their dynamic and expanding respiratory department. The Hospital is a busy district general hospital with links to nearby Universities. They have a 27 bed respiratory ward with a 6 bed Higher Care Unit for acute non-invasive ventilation. The hospital offer a wide range of services including bronchoscopy, EBUS and pleural ultrasound and also offer subspecialty services in lung cancer, cystic fibrosis, sleep medicine and respiratory failure. They are looking for an individual who can further enhance the current services but we would also encourage the development of other subspecialty areas which applicants can offer to complement our service.

This is a permanent post to fill a vacancy made available through retirement. The post is a 10 + 1 PA position, working as part of the general medicine rota, including on call covering 1 in 26 weekdays and 1 in 8 weekends. The weekend duty includes additional responsibility for the review of and management of inpatients already on the wards covered by the respiratory team.
