We are looking for a dental receptionist/nurse for our fully private dental practice based in Huddersfield its full time at 37.5 hours per week most likely Mon-fri 9am-5pm

Responsible to: Practice Manager
Purpose of the post: Welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries. Directing visitors by maintaining employee and department directories; giving instructions to new customers. Taking booking, typing up dental notes if necessary, ordering in stock. Will be required from time to time to work in surgery whilst other nurses are on leave.
Needs to be registered with the GDC as a qualified dental nurse as you will be the first point of contact for new and existing customers.

Duties and responsibilities

1.0 Customer Care, Communications and Feedback

• To ensure that customers’ expectations are exceeded whenever possible.

• Making booking for customers

• To treat visitors in a friendly and polite manner and do everything reasonably possible to exceed customers’ expectations.

• To deal with feedback, whether positive or negative, in a courteous, efficient and timely manner.

• Make customers feel welcome every time they engage with Cote Royd Dental Practice either via phone or in person.

• To monitor customer satisfaction throughout the customer’s dental journey.

• To communicate and promote the dental services offered at Cote Royd Dental Practice

2.0 Finance & resources

• To ensure that best value for money is obtained at all times.

• To be accountable for the security of Cote Royd Dental Practices resources, including equipment and stock.

• To ensure that the Finance Department receives all necessary financial information, that it is accurate and on time.

3.0 Ethical and environmental standards

• To promote the highest standards of ethical and environmental behaviour, ensuring that Cote Royd Dental Practice is endeavouring to reduce its impact upon the planet.

4.0 Health and safety

• To ensure that Cote Royd Dental Practices Health and Safety Policy is adhered to at all times.

• To ensure that Health and Safety legislation is adhered to at all times.

• To ensure the health and safety of customers is a main priority.

• To act as a first-aider, if qualified.

5.0 Other duties

• To attend appropriate meetings and training sessions as and when required by the practice manager.

• To contribute to the positive image of the Dental practice to customers, potential clients and the local community.

• To undertake other tasks and responsibilities compatible with the level and nature of the post as required by the practice manager

The post-holder will be informed of relevant training opportunities depending on their nature and relevance.


The nature of the post will, at times, require additional commitment over and above normal office hours. Payment for these hours will be at the rate stated above
