Clinical perfusionist (A01074)

PE Global Healthcare requires a Clinical Perfusionist for one of the largest hospital groups in Qatar.

Principal Accountabilities

To provide a high standard of perfusion services for patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgery or during any other clinical procedures where necessary to support or replace the patient cardiopulmonary/circulatory Functions.

1. To prepare and set up the heart-lung machine for perfusion techniques including cardiopulmonary bypass, intra aortic balloon pumping, cell salvage and other aspects of perfusion during cardiac surgery or Other clinical procedures for both routine and emergency situations. 2. To run the heart-lung machine safely and in accordance with the department policy. 3. To setup and operate Intra ortic Balloon counter Pulsation System. 4. To calibrate and perform routine maintenance of blood gas and electrolyte machines. 5. To maintain accurate documentation of all clinical procedures for the purposes of legal, audit, education and research. 6. To take part in the training of new trainee or other staff. 7. Participation in on call duties 8. To participate in the department academic activities and keep up to date with the perfusion technology.
9. Perform any other duties at the request of the chief Perfusionist or the department head

Educational requirements:
BSc in Perfusion
Or
BSc plus one year diploma in Perfusion
Or
Bachelor of Science from Qatar University
