Medacs is currently recruiting for a Consultant in Emergency Medicine for a large Trusts in S.Yorkshre.

The salary scale is up to £101,000 depending on experience.

General description of the post:

Emergency and Acute Medicine are working together to develop quality services for patients presenting with acute conditions. Appointment to these new posts will complete the team of dedicated and highly motivated Emergency Medicine Consultants, who work with our Acute Medicine team, as part of our Unscheduled Care Directorate.

The successful applicants will have wide training and experience in emergency medicine. Post holders will be encouraged to develop specialist interests and techniques to fit in with the departmental scope of practice, and related research ideas are welcome.

The working week for a full-time consultant comprises 10 programmed activities (PAs). Typically a new consultant will spend 7.5 PAs on direct clinical care, with 2.5 PAs on supporting professional activities (SPA), 0.5 of which is allocated for junior medical staff educational supervision.

For this post, direct clinical care includes clinical activity, clinically related activity, predictable and unpredictable emergency work. SPA's include participation in training and medical supervision, medical education, continuous professional development (CPD), formal teaching, audit, clinical management and local clinical governance activities.


Full registration with the GMC.
