Medacs Healthcare is currently looking for a Trust Doctor in Endocrinology and Diabetics (level ST+) to work in a large teaching hospital in Lancashire.

The Hospital Diabetes team provide inpatient as well as outpatient specialist diabetes services. The inpatient services involve management of acute diabetes
emergencies as well as reviewing patients with diabetes in the medical and nondiabetes wards. There is a a regular diabetes rota for reviewing these patients.
The endocrine team provide specialist endocrine service, and there are three endocrine and general medical clinics every week and specialist endocrine clinic every fortnight. There is a Primary Care Assessment Unit (PCAU) where endocrine investigations are carried out in a planned way. There is a weekly endocrine meeting to discuss endocrine investigations, and providing appropriate endocrine education.

The post holder will work with the Diabetes and Endocrinology team, and will:
1. Co-ordinate the day to day care of patients within the Team ensuring that all patients receive a daily visit at the Hospital.
2. Attend out-patient clinics as required.
3. Actively manage the emergency Medical Admissions Service when On Call and to be readily available to provide consultation and advice to Junior Medical Staff
4. The On Call would form part of the Intermediate On Call Rota with the other Staff Physicians and Registrars and would include prospective cover.

Contract type: Full time/Fixed term
Contract length: 12 months (minimum)
Salary scale: £31,614 – £47,647 per annum depending on experience plus up to 50% banding on the top of basic salary

- GMC registration with a licence to practice
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Endocrinology and Diabetics and 1 year in General Medicine
