Pulse has a client who is looking for a Counselling Manager to join their team on a full time permanent basis.

The Counselling Manager will manage local face to face workers in all aspects of line management including referrals. They will carry out some practitioner work especially DBT groups (training will be provided). The post holder will identify, with Regional Manager, Commissioners, local authority partners in the area, e.g. CAHMS and young people’s drug and alcohol teams, pathways into other services and ensure this is fed back to the counselling team as a whole. They will need to network by attending conferences, schools, youth forums and any other relevant events. They will also train youth workers, teachers and other front line workers on how the counselling service works.

It is essential candidates have a relevant professional qualification in Counselling, Psychotherapy at Diploma level or above or the equivalent. They should have BACP, a minimum of 450 clinical hours (post qualification) or UKCP minimum of 4 years advanced clinical training and a minimum of 450 clinical hours. They must also have experience of managing a team of counsellors and a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working with young people in face to face settings.
