Medacs Healthcare is currently looking for a Clinical Fellow in Cardiac Intensive Care to work in an innovative, state-of-the art NHS Cardiac Centre based in North West of England.

The centre is purpose-built to provide the complete package of cardiology and cardiothoracic surgical care within these facilities. It offers the highest level of heart and chest surgery as well as less invasive heart procedures and treatments. Current developments of the centre include an electrophysiology service to investigate and treat patients with disorders of their heart rhythm, and the development of minimally invasive cardiac and thoracic surgery to minimise the stress of surgery, improve recovery times and allow a speedy return to a normal life.

The post is full time and will be primarily based in the Cardiac ICU. The successful applicant will join 6 trainees in an EWTD compliant 1:6 rota with prospective cover of annual and study leave.

Salary scale: £33,264.00 to £62,310.00 per annum

Core duties of the post:

• Assessment of each patient every day on the ward round, plan and document patient care under supervision of the Cardiac ICU Consultant.
• Coordinate with other members of the team in the ongoing medical care of all the patients on the unit.
• Attend handover in the morning and evening.
• Communicate effectively with the Cardiac ICU consultant regarding all new referrals for admission.
• Work effectively with trainees from other specialties to provide effective care to critically ill patients.
• Follow all Trust and ICU policies all the time.
• Participate in the ongoing Clinical audits and research.
• Participate in the teaching and educational programme.


• Current full registration with GMC with a licence to practice.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Intensive Care
