Medacs Healthcare is currently looking for a Trust Grade Doctor in T&O (SHO level) to work in a large NHS hospital in East Midlands.

The post will appeal to a trainee with basic surgical training skills who has a career aim in Trauma & Orthopaedics.

It is anticipated that the Senior House Officer will gain experience and confidence in the routine evaluation and management of Trauma and elective Orthopaedic patients, including undertaking certain surgical procedures under guidance.

Duties of the post include clerking patients, both elective and also to assess trauma cases in Accident & Emergency, assist at surgery, provide postoperative care and attend clinics.

An on-call commitment would be in the SHO grade rota on a 1:9.

In the Trauma and Orthopaedics department, duties would include the routine evaluation and management of Trauma and elective Orthopaedic patients, including undertaking certain surgical procedures under guidance whilst working in the Trauma and Orthopaedic rotation.

As well as the seminars mentioned above there are facilities in the post-graduate medical centre with an extensive library, audio visual aids, study rooms etc.

Requirements:
- full registration with the GMC and a licence to practice.
- a minimum of 12 months of experience
