Medacs Healthcare is currently looking for a Consultant in Acute Medicine to work in a large teaching hospital in Lancashire.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an expanding team of Consultants on the Acute Medicine Unit (AMU). The AMU aims to deliver the highest standard of care to patients presenting acutely to hospital.

The post comes with a very attractive relocation package.

The successful applicants will play a pivotal role in the care of the acutely ill patient.
Key duties of the post:

Sharing the overall responsibilities of the AMU. Hands-on involvement with the medical take, ensuring the timely development of appropriate management plans for patients. Supervision and co-ordination of junior doctors within the unit. Helping to maintain multi-professional systems of care for common conditions. Teaching and training of medical and nursing staff, both informal and formal. Leading the development of Clinical Governance framework for Acute Medicine. Developing alternatives to in-patient management where clinically appropriate. Candidates who hold dual accreditation will be actively encouraged to continue in their chosen specialties and activities and time will be allocated within the job plan in order to accommodate this.
