Medacs Healthcare is currently looking for a Consultant Physician in Care of the Elderly to work in a large teaching hospital in Lancashire.

The clinical commitments of this post will include responsibility for inpatient acute hospital care, outpatient clinics and on-call for general medicine.
The work involves assessing patients on the Acute Medical Unit as part of the Integrated Assessment Team (IAT). The Postholder will work as a member of the Care of the Elderly team and will have inpatient beds in addition to providing in reach support to the Acute Medical Unit. The current template allows for 5 new patients and 10 follow-up patients. This clinic is supported by 1 junior or middle grade doctor.

Indicative Work Plan (to be confirmed on appointment)

Direct clinical care including on call duties 8.5
Supporting Professional Activities 1.5

The post holder will participate with colleagues on an on-call rota on a one in twenty basis. This is purely an on-call service for emergencies and telephone advice.

Contract type: Full time
Contract length: 12 months
Salary scale: £75,249 - £101,451


Requirements:
- Full GMC registration with a licenece to practice, on specialist register
- Appropriate experience and clinical expertise in Care of the Eldery / General Medicine
