National Locums are urgently looking to recruit a Band 7 or 8a Locum Psychologist.

The ideal candidate will be required to cover a Clinical/Forensic role so experience within this area is a must.

- Job Title: Clinical/Forensic Psychologist
- Duration: On-going
- Location: Kent
- Hours: 3 days - 22.5 hours per week

- Hourly rate: £40-£48 per hour (dependant on experience)

Key Responsibilities include:
- HPC registered with a postgraduate doctoral level training in clinical/forensic psychologist or equivalent; working as a Clinical and/or Forensic Psychologist within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service area.

- Providing expertise and specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to patients and other professionals, leading on the development of therapeutic approaches/practices in psychology within the service area allocated.

- Taking responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service area, and contributing to effective risk assessment (e.g. HCR-20 and START) and clinical audit.
- Acting as professional adviser to the MDT at all levels in relation to mental illness, personality disorder and complex needs issues.

- Developing, implementing and leading a model of clinical care and interventions based on psychological formulation that will inform their therapeutic pathway and inform the specific requirements of different professionals within that pathway.

- Knowledge and skills in two or more distinct psychological therapies, including CBT.

- Ability to engage treatment resistant and/or cognitively impaired patients

- Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, formulation, treatment and evaluation;

- Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups;

- Knowledge of mental health legislation;

- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively on all levels

- Ability to plan and prioritise workload, and work under pressure; and engaging in regular communication and supervision with the Head of Psychology.

Desirable: DBT trained and experience in the assessment and treatment of mentally disordered offenders, including offence focused interventions and substance misuse behaviours and supervising assistant psychologists.

Applicants must have:
- Min 2 years relevant NHS experience
- HCPC registration
