As a Domiciliary Optometrist, you will have the opportunity to work closely with individuals who may have difficulty visiting traditional optometry practices, ensuring they receive personalized, professional, and compassionate care. Welcomed applicants can range from experienced domiciliary Optometrists to those nearing qualification with no domiciliary experience, as comprehensive on-board training is always provided to help you seamlessly transition into this position.

On a typical day, you will see an average of 6-7 patients per day in their homes or up to 16 patients in a care home setting. You'll enjoy full flexibility to conduct tests and manage your clinic without commercial pressures. You will also be provided with state-of-the-art tools, including a digital fundus camera, mobile slit lamp, I-care tonometer, retinoscope, and an advanced digital records system that eliminates paperwork, all conveniently packed in a lightweight case.

Key Duties

* Conducting thorough eye examinations, including prescribing corrective lenses, and identifying potential eye health issues.
* Have a real passion in providing strong levels of customer care and professional excellence
* Ensure that you provide good levels of customer service to customers at all times
* Clinic hours are 9am - 5.30pm however you must be willing to travel up to a 50 miles radius from home address (roughly 1 hour travel radius with some days possibly less and some day possibly slightly more etc) and be confident to drive in both built up areas and on motorways
* Offering a compassionate and patient centred approach, particularly when working with individuals who may require extra care and support during the examination process.
* Take a hands-on approach and be keen to get involved and build rapport with the rest of the team
* 3 to 5 days a week is required with no weekend or bank holiday work included

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

* Tier two visa sponsorship available
* Full UK driving license
* GOC Registered as an Optometrist or soon to receive NHS/GOC if recently completed or nearing OSCE
